NICCO ANNAN

Through the non-binary character Uncle Clifford on Starz’s P-Valley, Nicco Annan powerfully represents the intersectionality of the Black, queer community on screen. Amongst the amazing cast, Annan’s portrayal is one of the show’s main attractions. He’s been included on The Hollywood Reporter’s Best TV Performances in 2020 list and this year, Annan was honored as a winner at the NAACP Image Awards for “Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series” — the first time an openly Black gay man to win that award. His impassioned speech about creating inclusive spaces where there is love dignity and respect when viral. As an openly gay man, the equally proud Detroit native, dancer and choreographer continues inspiring many by expanding space as using his voice to spotlight the Black LGBTQ+ community. —G.E.
