Ever wondered how A$AP Rocky became such a fashion superstar amongst the people and the industry? It’s partly due to his natural Harlem swag, but there is also Matthew Henson. The New Jersey native began his styling career as an intern before going on to be a fashion editor at Complex for over five years. Following his imprint on the editorial world, Henson has been A$AP Rocky’s personal stylist since 2012 and has also grown his celebrity client list to include Pharrell Williams, The Weeknd and other big names in entertainment. In addition to his creative consultancy with AWGE (A$AP Rocky’s creative agency), Henson co-styled the British Vogue cover with Rocky, Rihanna and their son, Riot, and styling his other client Pharrell’s debut collection for Louis Vuitton Men in Paris last June and the recent LV resort collection in Hong Kong. —G.E.
