TY HUNTER

In the early days of Beyoncé’s career, Mama Tina Knowles was solely responsible for all wardrobe and costumes until she was joined by fashion stylist Ty Hunter. For almost two decades, Hunter styled Destiny’s Child and for Beyoncé once she launched her solo career. Hunter was behind some of the superstar’s most famous fits which are consistently referenced and reposted to this day, like the looks worn in the “Crazy In Love” video and on many Met Gala red carpets until 2014. Hunter now shares his fashion talent for Ivy Park campaigns and working with Billy Porter. In addition to styling, the fashion maven has also built a great community online by sharing daily motivational quotes and moments of comedic relief, which he calls, “Ty Yellow Pages.” Hunter’s latest career milestone: publishing his first memoir, Makeover From Within: Lessons in Hardship, Acceptance, and Self-Discovery (Chronicle Books). —G.E.
