MALCOLM MERRIWEATHER

Merriweather is someone who has submerged himself in the world of choral music. After receiving a music education degree from Syracuse University, he earned a Masters in choral conducting at the Manhattan School of Music and a Masters in vocal performance from the Eastman School of Music. And it’s safe to say Merriweather is putting his degrees to great use. In 2021, his baritone work was featured in the choral recording of Paul Moravec’s Sanctuary Road, which was Grammy nominated for best choral performance. When he’s not conducting at the NY Philharmonic, he serves as an Associate Professor and Director of Choral Studies at Brooklyn College. Last March, Merriweather contributed to Solange’s “Eldorado Ballroom” curated performances at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. —G.E.
