JUSTICE HORN

Justice Horn has been described as a leader, activist and trailblazer. He’s most certainly blazing pathways after being appointed Chair of the Kansas City LGBTQ+ Commission in his home state of Missouri. Earlier this year Horn made news after he posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, a screenshot of a message he received on Grindr (a dating app for the LGBTQ+ community) congratulating him on the appointment. Horn told GLAAD at the time, “It was an unconventional way of receiving the message but I also understand that a portion of the community I serve is there and it was being delivered with good intentions and it still meant a lot to me.” Horn, a former college wrestler, isn't new to making headlines like when he came out in 2018 while on the team for North State University in South Dakota. In his new role as the the first, and only LGBTQ+ Commission in the state of Missouri, Horn is hoping to continue to create more space for others in the community. —K.M.
