DON ABRAM
When Don Abram started Pride in the Pews it was in celebration of his passion for the Black church and advancing LGBTQ+ nondiscrimination. Abram was called into ministry and went on to study at Harvard Divinity School, where he examined scripture critically with a focus on marginalized communities. Pride in the Pews is a grassroots nationwide non-profit of Black faith leaders that bridges the gap between the Black Church and the LGBTQ+ community through storytelling, political education and civic engagement. Abram is taking us from church hurt to inclusive church healing. —K.M.
