COLMAN DOMINGO

Colman Domingo is a celebrated Renaissance Man: actor, director, writer, playwright, and producer. He’s received distinguished honors such as a 2022 Emmy Award for outstanding guest actor in a drama series on Euphoria and a 2023 Tony Award nomination as part of the producing team of Fat Ham on Broadway. Domingo’s talent has the depth to translate across film genres, including animation. He adapted a part of his play, A Boy and His Soul, into an award-winning short New Moon. This year, Domingo appears as a leading man in two profound films already creating Oscar heat: Netflix’s RUSTIN as Bayard Rustin, the Civil Right activist who was the mastermind behind the March on Washington in 1963; and in the highly anticipated remake of The Color Purple as Albert “Mister” Johnson. Domingo's award nominations (Golden Globes and Critic's Choice Awards) are rolling in for RUSTIN. Domingo’s active presence in the center of Black storytelling is both impactful and inspiring for every intersection he represents and beyond. —G.E.
