In an interview for Forbes, Brian Henry (DJ B-Hen) called himself a musical illustrator. As the curator of widely known DJ B-Hen Block Parties, where he proclaims “there’s no VIP because we’re all VIP,” Henry brings together diverse masses from Hollywood to inside the Beltway. The Baltimore native and Morehouse College grad has said he believes his love affair with music is built on diverse cultural experiences and an empathic connection to others because of his upbringing as a military brat. That love for music has taken him all over the world, from the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans to Coachella, global music showcases in Brazil to the Renaissance Afterparty in Paris. His B-Hen Block Parties are legendary elevating safe spaces and Black Joy. And the number one vibe he’s spinning? A space where everyone who moves to the music together. —K.M.
